Here is a new trip for this coming long weekend:

TRIP: Axehead Range, southern Blue Mountains

DEPARTING SYDNEY: Friday evening 5 Jun

RETURING SYDNEY: Monday evening 8 Jun

Starting and ending at Kanangra Walls, about 3 hours drive from Sydney, this
walk is in the Kanangra Boyd National Park and Blue Mountains National Park.

It is a spectacular walk with great scenery from atop the Axehead Range and
elsewhere.

The walk involves fairly full days on the move, covering a lot of ground.
There is an 800m loss and gain in elevation on the first and last day. This
is because we cross the Kowmung Gorge twice during the weekend, once on the
way in and again on the way out.

Some of the walking is on bush tracks, some of it is off track. There are
some steep sections where rock scrambling and passing of packs may be
needed.

Not a beginners trip, you need good fitness and the ability to keep going up
and down long hills. But it's not super hard either. Provided you are fit
and are carrying a reasonably light pack the walk will be very enjoyable.
Hopefully there will be great sunset views from Axehead Mountain. The aim is
to reach this location on the first day so we will need to keep going.

Importantly, places on this trip will be restricted to a small group. Only
2-3 places are available on this walk.

If interested, please let me know by Thursday evening, 4 Jun. If you have
not done a trip with me before, please provide me information I need by
completing a trip application form:
