Here is a walk for this coming weekend 25-26 April.
Location: southern Blue Mountains, about 2 hours drive from Sydney.
Proposed route:
Carlons Farm - Upper Breakfast Creek - Mobbs Soak - Splendour Rock - Mount
Mouin - Carlons Farm
Details:
We will explore the upper sections of Breakfast creek and for this we will
take rope and abseiling gear just in case it is needed. We aim to complete
this on the first day and then climb out of Breakfast Creek and go to
Splendour Rock to camp on Saturday night. Great views are had from Splendour
Rock.
Sunday we will return to Carlons Farm via Mount Mouin, a shorter day - very
scenic.
The trip will not take place unless good weather is forecast for the
weekend.
The first part of the trip will involve walking off track and it will be wet
and slippery walking along a steeply descending creek.
So the trip would be suitable for people with previous overnight walking
experience and good fitness, and competence at creek walking.
Whether we will drive up on Friday night or early Saturday morning is yet to
be confirmed.
Let me know if by email if interested and include a contact phone number.
New members should include a brief description of your current level of
experience and fitness, and whether you have all the gear you need for an
overnight walk.
