Here is a walk for the June long weekend.

DEPART SYDNEY: Friday evening, 6 June 2008

RETURN SYDNEY: Monday evening, 9 June 2008

DESTINATION: Mount Colong and Kowmung country.

This walk is in the Kanangra-Boyd National Park, about 3 hours drive from
Sydney. It is a full 3 day walk, in which we will be walking with overnight
packs making full use of the daylight hours available at this time of year.
The walking is mainly through open country and long distances will be
covered. There are some long uphills and downhills with 800m vertical height
loss and gain needing to be done as a matter of course during the trip.

Expansive country with sweeping open ridges, camping in pleasant surrounds
in high country close to the stars. Some excellent scenery and large areas
of varied open forest. A wild area largely undisturbed except for some minor
tracks some of the way. Camping on the open forested plateau of Mt Colong
will hopefully be one of the highlights of the trip.

There are only a small number of places available on for this trip. If

Good fitness is essential for this trip and you must be able to walk full
days with a pack up and down long hills.
