G'day walkers,
>From the scenic rim on the southern outskirts of Katoomba, the Narrow Neck
peninsula juts out for a distance of ten kilometres into the glorious
scenic wonderland of the Blue Mountains National Park. *
This is all well and good, but most people only glimpse the Narrowneck
from Echo Point, while most who have actually walked the Neck never stray
from the fire trail that runs its length, on their way to harder walks to
the south. I propose an alternative.
The peninsula provides fantastic views in all directions, and has several
established walking tracks away from the 4WD trail. This weekend I hope
to explore several of these tracks, take a bunch of photos, have "Tacos at
Taro's Ladders" for dinner, and do more exploring on Sunday.
There are in fact upwards of ten passes off Narrowneck, and I'd hope to
visit a few of those, too, including Redledge Pass and Coachwood Pass.
There'll be a few opportunities for abseiling -- some of the passes are a
bit marginal without rope.
Because Narrowneck is so near to Katoomba station, it's probably feasible
for people to come just for the Saturday.
Drop me a mail if you're interested.
Cheers
tom
