[SUBW-A] Red Rocks walk, 28-29 Jun

Here is a walk for the coming weekend:

Destination: The Red Rocks (Near Newnes)

Departing Sydney: Friday evening, 27 Jun (or possibly Saturday morning)

Returning Sydney: Sunday evening, 29 Jun

Details:

An overnight walk in an area of sandstone cliffs with great scenery. On
Saturday morning we will climb a ridge to reach an extensive sandstone
escarpment and walk along it, enjoying extensive views into the Capertee and
Wolgan valleys. We hope to camp somewhere with a good vantage point for
evening and morning scenery.

Most of the walking is not on a trail although the distances to be covered
are not large. We'll be carrying camping gear, food and water. Moderate
fitness is required. That is, you should be able to walk for 6 hours per day
with a pack weighing about 12kg. There is no flowing water near the camp
site.

Only a small number of places are available for this walk - limit 8.
