MTB trip this Sunday 22 June from Mt Wilson to Bilpin via fire trails & Bowens Creek Road,  lunch at the apple bar at Bilpin then ride back to Mt Wilson. About 50km mainly fire trail & dirt track, small amount of quite on road & (optional) rough single track. (you will would need transport to get to Mt Wilson). Most of the ride follows the Mt Wilson to Bilpin Bushrun see http://www.bilpinbushrun.com.au/links.htm it has a coarse map & elevations on it, we will have to cut out most of the loop on Mt Irvine because a section of it is on private property. Nothing to difficult in the ride.
Start time 10am at Mt Wilson Fire Station, bring bike spares, water, snacks & money for lunch at the apple bar.

About Bowens Creek Road - Bowens Creek Road is a link track that connects Mt Irvine to Bilpin, it zig zags its way down a cliff on the Bilpin side crosses Bowens creek on an old wooden bridge then winds its way up a side creek on to Mt Irvine. It was built in the depression to provide work (like a work for the dole scheme) all done by hand with wheelbarrows, picks, shovels, star drills & explosives.
