In January 2001, a research team, consisting of Archaeologists,  
Aboriginal
Community members, Bushwalkers and Park Rangers, began a study that  
aims to
better understand the relationship between Blue Mountains World  
Heritage cultural
heritage, especially rock-art sites (drawings, stencils, paintings  
and engravings), and
that of other parts of New South Wales and to describe culture change  
in Wollemi
National Park over the past few thousand years.
Wayne Brennan co director of the project will be talking about the  
teams work in the
Wollemi and the extensive ongoing community consultation and  
participation. He
will also  be highlighting some of the results of his work of the  
past twenty years in
the Blue Mountains  as well as introduce some discussion about some  
very recent
finds by the team.He will be joined by a special guest Graham King- 
Davis a major
partner in the Wollemi Rock art project and a local Blue Mountains  
artist.
Besides scientific significance, the results have profound social  
significance for
Aboriginal stakeholders and are of great value to park and World  
Heritage Area
managers, interpretation officers, tourists and others with an  
interest in Aboriginal
culture, rock-art and the World Heritage Area.
