  DUNNS SWAMP – WOLLEMI NATIONAL PARK: SITE CLOSURES FOR IMPROVEMENT WORKS

*Issue: *Temporary site closures of Dunns Swamp Camping and Picnic Area for
construction works.

* *

*Background: *A series of partial and complete site closures are planned for
Dunns Swamp between the period of 25th March and the 16th May 2008. The site
closures are required whilst improvement and upgrading works are carried out
to internal access roads and camp sites as part of the Dunns Swamp
Masterplan upgrading works.



Work will commence immediately after Easter 2008 with the following closure
schedule:



·         *Partial Closure:*      Tuesday 25th March until Friday 11th April
– areas to the west   of the main access road



·         *Open:*             NSW school holidays - Saturday 12th until
Sunday 27th April.



·         *Closed:           *Monday 28th April until Friday 16th May



Dunns Swamp will progressively re-open from Saturday 17th May 2008.
Landscaping and other work will continue over a period of several months
with minimal disruption.



*Current situation: *The following notifications are in place:



·         Media releases to local media outlets**

·         Notification to local Visitor Information Centres with advice on
alternate campsites**

·         Advisory signs erected in Rylstone and at all entry points and
Dunns Swamp

·         National Parks website
