[SUBW-A] Canyon Festival and Xmas Walk to Coxs River

Next Weekend - 1 - 2 Dec is the Canyoning Festival at Mt Wilson. A  
number of people have got in touch about this trip - and i will start  
to organise things soon. I expect there to be several club canyoning  
trips going each day. Anybody - that hasn't got in touch and wants to  
take part - please get in touch soon. Let me know if you want to lead  
a canyon trip on one or both of the days. The canyons i hope to do  
(depending on the weather during this week) are Claustral on Saturday  
an easier lilo canyon on Sunday. Claustral Canyon is spectacular -  
involving abseiling and a lot of swimming in very cold water and is  
not suited to beginners. The social aspects of the weekend take place  
at the campsite at Mt Wilson. Some people will be coming up for only  
one of the days.

The weekend after - 8 - 9 December is the annual walk to the Coxs  
River. This is about a 90 minute walk from the Megalong Valley down  
the Six Foot Track to a nice campsite on the Coxs River. Recent rain  
should make for good swimming this year. This is a social walk - with  
fine food, wine and ales........ Some of the party, often do a canyon  
on the way up on Saturday morning - then head down to the river.  
Closer to the event - i will put a map online showing people how to  
get to the campsite if they want to walk in independently.
