INTERMEDIATE TELEMARK SKI TRIP
SNOWY MOUNTAINS, KOSCIUSZKO NP
FRIDAY 29 JUNE - SUNDAY 1 JULY
==============================
Tighten up those cable bindings, we're going telemarking! Departing Sydney
Thursday arvo/evening, returning Sunday night, this trip will be suitable
for punters who've had a go at telemarking before and reckon that they are
fit and ready to have another go. At this stage we have two different
routes in mind:
(1) Park cars at Snow Tube, catch train to Perisher and ski along the road
to Charlotte Pass for access to the backcountry around Blue Lake. This
trip would be my preference if Huey is forecast to send good weather and
if the punters coming are all experienced.
(2) Park cars at Thredbo and chairlift to the top for access to the
Ramsheads and the Main Range. This trip would be my preference is weather
conditions are less than favourable and if we get an influx of super keen
but less experienced telemarkers.
At least one car will be staying on after the trip to allow a couple of us
to do some resort telemarking at Perisher on the Monday. Jacqui Knox and
others need to be back for work on Monday morning so there will also be at
least one car returning to Sydney/the Blue Mountains on Sunday
arvo/evening.
If you are interested in this trip please email with answers to the
following interrogation:
(a) Do you have a car which you could bring? What type is it?
(b) What snow experince do you have?
(c) How fit are you?
(d) What gear would you need to borrow from SUBW? (eg tent, sleeping bag)
(e) How old are you?
(f) Where do you live?
(g) Are you a cannibal who would eat me if we got caught in a blizzard?
Please try to email by Monday 12 noon as I may be away bushwalking next
week from Monday arvo to Thursday morning.
Cheers,
Tom G.
