All,

It's Mid winter and there's no ski trip on the walk program. What's
happening?

If anyone is interested I'm thinking of going to the snow this coming
weekend. The plan is this:

Departing Fri 20/7/07 evening ...

Sat 21/7/07 Perisher Resort

Sun 22/7/07 Perisher Resort

Mon 23/7/07 open to suggestion

Tue 24/7/07 open to suggestion

Potentially I can stretch it to Wednesday too.

On Sat I need to do some skiing with another group at the resort, on Sun I
should be mostly free at the resort so we can ski together a bit.

Mon/Tue/Wed we can stay at Perisher or weather permitting go backcountry. If
it's up to me I usually go telemarking rather than xcing. But like I say I'm
open to suggestion. I usually take fat non-pattern skis and skin up
mountains and do turns.

I can give Telemark lessons (I'm a level 1 instructor albeit a crappy one at
that).

I can take a beginner group to do xc at perisher trails (no lift pass
needed), staying overnight at Jindabyne. But this is at most a 1 day trip.

I dont feel particularly fit at the moment so wont do anything too
extravagant like Jagungal.

I have a car with 3 spare seats at present.

I was at Whites River area last weekend. There was plenty of snow - and it
just kept on snowing and snowing. Unfortuantely it was also too warm to have
any decent snow. Hopefully it'll chill down further by next weekend.

Please get in touch if keen. I'd prefer to have at least 3 people to go
backcountry. Failing that the resort seems like an attractive place to hang
around, especially knowing there are beers at the end of the day. :-)

p.s. when is Gleeson's next trip again?

Regards,

Jan Hu
