[SUBW-A] August Slide Night - Wednesday 29th 7pm

G'day walkers,

It seems like only yesterday that the July slide night (in August) brought us
tales of walks and skiing and canyoning ... and caving ... and climbing ...
and ... was there some mountain biking in there too?  I think we trespassed
on the charters of about a dozen other clubs.  Maybe we can have some
singing this month.

Anyway!  If you've been waiting for the August slide night (in August) then
you'll be pleased to know that it is on this Wednesday (August 29) at 7pm.
We're back upstairs in the Holme Reading Room.  As usual, the nearby
Forest Lodge Hotel in Arundel St is a good place for dinner beforehand.

Ashley will be showing off slides of his recent trip to PERU.  Bear in mind
that these are actual old-school emulsion and dye slides, which theoretically
can work without electricity or a Flickr account, so there's something there
to marvel at even if enormous picturesque mountains aren't to your taste.

I encourage everyone else to bring their USB memory sticks and CDs and
laptops and ferrite coils full of beautiful photos too, or just come along
to meet up with other club members.
