[SUBW-A] 2 day Jagungal ski trip, 17-19 August 2007

Having just returned from trekking and climbing in Peru, it is time to make
the most of what is left of the Australian ski season. Here is a trip for
the weekend after next:

Depart Sydney: Friday evening 17 Aug
Return Sydney: Sunday evening 19 Aug
Route: Guthega Power station to the summit of Jagungal and back.

This is a serious ski trip for very fit and experienced cross country skiers
only. On Saturday we will start early and ski non stop all day, and possibly
on until after sunset, stopping only for lunch at Mawsons hut. Sunday will
also be a big ski, whereby we return to Guthega Power station via Gungartan
Pass. 

The group size will be limited to a maximum of 4, and you must be fully self
sufficient with all the necessary ski and snow camping gear.

The trip requires good snow and good weather. In the absence of either of
these, the trip will be cancelled. Anyone interested in this trip accepts
that cancellation may occur last minute.

Having said all this, in good conditions, the trip is simply the best
weekend imaginable, as people who have been on previous such trips will
testify.

I will also be adding a separate ski trip that is more suited to people with
less experience to the programme in coming weeks.
